Some notes: Male and female's neck are widely different in proportion and appearance. Female's don't have a widely visible adam's apple (laryngeal prominence). They also tend to have thinner necks too.
Another thing, there are many different types of collar bones so there isn't one way they can look but the connection and overall placement will be the same no matter the gender or person. Common mistakes: People tend to draw necks too straight or too curved. You really have to find the correct between to that area. It's important to reference and look at a lot of necks. Don't draw every single detail either, it will make the appearance of someone who is sickly. Good idea is to look how other people tend to draw details in necks for certain body types or styles in art.
